Summary: Tyler is going to Lulu’s house. He’s nervous because Lulu’s family are all vegetarians. Tyler says he doesn’t like bean curd even though he has never tried it. Pinky makes up a story to illustrate a lesson. 60 million years ago there lived a dinosaur family named the Dinky Rexes. A family of Apatosauruses move in next door. The new family invites the Dinky Rexes over for dinner and serve them a vegetarian meal. Mr. Rex asks for some meat, so Mrs. A brings out some BBQ ribs, but they are veggie ribs. Mr. Rex is so hungry he beings to cry. He does not want to try any of the vegetarian food. Pinky has a big idea. Mr. Rex can try a bite and say “no thank you” if he doesn’t like it. Mr. Rex tries a bite, and he loves the ribs.

Summary: Ruby is putting on a dolly tea party in her backyard. She wants Max to help, but he wants to play pirates. First he uses Ruby’s tablecloth as a sail for his pirate ship. Next he uses the napkins as pirate boats. Then he makes Ruby’s dolls walk the plank. Lastly he takes Ruby’s jewelry box and buries it. Ruby gives in and plays pirates with Max by searching for the buried treasure.

Summary: The Little Einsteins are on their way to the Sydney Opera House in Australia for the animal talent show. A baby kangaroo (they call him Joey because a baby kangaroo is called a joey) forgot about the show, so the Little Einsteins help him to get there on time. Along the way, the Little Einsteins and Joey also tell a koala bear, two rainbow lorikeets, and a snake about the show. They all arrive at the show on time. Joey performs in the show; he does his biggest jump ever.

Summary: Maggie has a snow globe. When she shakes it, it snows for real in her world (Nowhere Land). Beast shakes it and it snows several inches. Maggie, Beast, and Hamilton build a snowman. Since the cold spell is only temporary, they take Mr. Shivers to Highest Mountain so he won’t melt. They give the snow globe to Mr. Shivers so he can visit anytime he wants.

Summary: Squirt is playing with Eddie and is late for dinner because he lost track of time. Later that night Squirt is late for bed time because he was playing and lost track of time. The next morning Squirt is late for school because he was web surfing and lost track of time. Squirt’s parents build a sundial so everyone would know the time. The sundial helps Squirt, but the day of Eddie’s hatch-day party is cloudy. Squirt looks at the sundial but it doesn’t tell him the time. Squirt is late for Eddie’s party. Eddie forgives him, but Squirt is sad that he missed all the fun.

Summary: Maya and Miguel’s parrot Paco takes Miguel’s favorite baseball card, an Orlando Flores card, and accidentally flushes it down the toilet. Maya feels responsible and wants to replace the card, but it is too expensive. When Maya, Miguel, Chrissy, Tito, and Abuela go to a baseball game, Maya tries to get Orlando Flores’ autograph to replace the baseball card. Maya and Miguel ultimately sneak on the field in the mascot’s costume. Although the do not get the autograph this way and get in trouble, they do get the autograph when Abuela traded the home run ball that she caught for an autograph.

Summary: This episode has four segments. In between each segment are puppet scenes and people scenes. These scenes reinforce the theme of the episode. I am only reviewing the Caillou scenes.

Segment 1: Caillou’s mom has a business meeting to attend. She asks Caillou to help his dad take care of things while she’s gone. Caillou helps take care of his sister Rosie, since his dad does not know her normal routine.

Segment 2: Caillou does not want to share his toys with Rosie. Rosie begins to cry, so Caillou shares so he won’t get in trouble. Caillou complains to his dad that Rosie takes all of his toys. His dad explains that Rosie is little and he should play with her and share. Caillou makes Rosie a fort in hopes that she will play by herself. They end up playing hide and seek and have fun.

Segment 3: Caillou, Rosie, and Dad are driving. Caillou and Rosie are not getting along. The car breaks down and Rosie begins to cry. Caillou comforts Rosie. The car is towed to a garage where it is fixed. They all make it to the restaurant for a meal with Mom.

Segment 4: Caillou and Rosie spend the night at their grandparents house. Caillou and Rosie argue about who gets to sleep on the top bunk. Caillou is given permission to sleep on the top bunk, but when he gets up there he is nervous about sleeping there. He ends up sleeping on the bottom bunk with Rosie.

Theme: Sibling relationships can be hard at times, but it is nice to have a sibling. Older siblings can feel good about taking care of their younger siblings.

Cyberchase: Totally Rad

Summary: The Hacker goes to Radopolis (a planet of skaters) and takes the throne from King Dudeicus. The Hacker outlaws skating, which makes the residents unhappy. The Cyberchase kids challenge Hacker to a skate-off. If the kids win, Hacker must leave Radopolis. Hacker keeps changing the dimensions of the skate-off field, which makes it harder for the kids to compete. The kids eventually realize that while Hacker’s changes keep the perimeter the same distance, the area inside of the perimeter is smaller. With this knowledge they are able to adjust, turn the tables on Hacker’s team, and win the skate-off.

Theme: The kids use geometry to help them win the skate-off.

Bad/Hurtful Language: The Hacker calls Digit a silly looking turkey. He also calls his sidekicks pathetic. He also calls Inez a “tiny tot,” which make her angry.

Summary: Kangaroo delivers a box to Cat’s junkyard. Since Cat is sleeping, she leaves the box at the door. Bear and Sheep find the box and try to open it. Instead they break the box and the o rolls away. The o rolls all through Word World before they finally catch it.
